Project Build Threads / 1992 Scott Montana
« Last post by phedro on September 01, 2017, 08:28:20 pm »
Hello everybody,

I'm owner of a 1992 Scott Montana I bought it 25 years ago.
I will try to upload pictures earlier.

I want to make some change. I want to change the :
- rear cogs, actual is 13-30, I found a 13-34.
- crank set, actual is 24 - 36 - 46

I guess it will be easy to change rear cogs.
But the problem is for crank set, I would like to put a 22-32-42, I tried with a Suntour XCM but it didn't work.

Anybody did this change ?
Thanks.

I bought the old junker from a Canadian chap in Surreyshire who inherited it from his next neighbour who was none other than the amazing David 'Kid' Jensen...so I was told.

Will update some pics soon of what it looks like now!

I have managed to get hold of another old Pug MTB this time a Montana from Circa 1988. It had the usual stuck seat post which all my Peugeot's seem to have which I sorted with some heat and a lot of spray lithium grease....

Will be stripped and powder coated in a few weeks.

I will uploads some pictures when it is done.

I bought this while I was rebuilding the Python and used it as a daily hack. It is one of the most comfortable bikes I have owned.

Everything was original on it even the tyres and it all worked well and felt really solid. Personally I think these are great bikes.

The frame and forks went of to the Powder Coaters on Wednesday and my better half choose the colour  :o which can only mean two things, it is going to be bright or very bright!!!!!

I used aurora powdercoating in Ash as they have a really good reputation and have been very helpful so far..

I will post up the some more pics when I get the frame back.
